The Captcha plugins are used to prevent spam submissions on your forms such as registration, contact and login. You basic installation of Joomla includes one Captcha plugin which leverages the ReCaptcha® service but you may install other plugins connecting to different Captcha systems.

You will need to register and agree to the Terms of Service at Recaptcha.net to use this plugin. Complete instructions are available if you edit the ReCaptcha plugin in the Plugin Manager.

Eine Authentifikation ist eine Berechtigungsprüfung die durchgeführt wird, falls sich jemand als Benutzer oder gar Administrator anmelden will. Das Plugin arbeitet im Front- und Backend gleichermaßen. Die Joomla!-Authentifikation ist die Standardaprozedur, man kann auf Gmail oder LDAP umschalten oder aber, so flexibel, wie Joomla! nun einmal ist, kann man auch ein Plugin für ein ganz anderes Authentifikationssystem installieren. Darüber hinaus ist ein Beispiel enthalten, dass dazu verwendet werden kann, ein neues Authenfikationsplugin zu erstellen.

Editorprogramme werden überall in Joomla! verwendet, wo Inhalt erstellt bzw. bearbeitet wird. „TinyMCE“ ist die Standardeinstellung in den meisten Bereichen obwohl „CodeMirror“ im Templatemanager verwendet wird. „Kein Editor“ bietet ein Textfeld zur Bearbeitung von HTML-Code an.

Standardmäßig sind alle drei möglichen Editoren aktiviert:
